The Pink Duck Bar & Bistro

Everything was good, as usual.  However, this time I had to go in search of coasters for our drinks (hate a pool of moisture on the table from our drinks), and then I had to go in search of a menu. No biggie in the larger scheme of things, but still a tad annoying. But then, as I had booked through an app that gave me a $20 discount on my overall meal cost, the staff had not heard of that app or deal before. Although I have used this discount a number of times at this same venue. It&#39;s just disappointing that todays staff had not been made aware of this discount app. However, the staff that were trying to sort it for me were really efficient and pleasant, and got it sorted in the end with a minimum of fuss.  They could have been nasty and fobbed me off, but they didn&#39;t. Credit to them for their  perseverance. Thank you 😀

Experienced absolutely disgusting service last night when myself and 19 others arrived for a 21st booking only to be told no booking existed. Staff made no attempt to rectify the situation, we were told to just try grab a few tables throughout the venue. I had all the details of the booking with who I spoke to on the phone, the date and time I called and all the details I was provided at the time. I had even spoken to the staff member about bringing a cake and big balloons. They were phoning the staff member I booked with asking if she remembers making this booking 2 months ago. When a member of my party told them they had done the same thing to her a couple of months ago, the staff said “not sure why you’re telling me, I didn’t work here then” Another patron told us they have had a weekly booking for years and they have recently been arriving to find no booking in place. The staff had a horrible attitude and left the 20 of us to find a new venue on the spot for my 21st. None of us will ever be returning after that service!

Horrible Experience 

It&apos;s been many years since I have written a review on TripAdvisor simply because I had not had the incentive before. And - whilst there are negatives here - the food was great and I am hoping to aid the management towards better performance regarding staff.   irst of all - I went back to this restaurant twice because the eye fillet served on the hot stone was excellent. And the pecan pie was as good as any as I have had in the US.   HOWEVER! The first time I visited I told the young lady upon entering that I wanted to have a beer and eat and I wanted to start a tab. She started the tab and asked me what I wanted to eat and everything was hunky-dory, This time I did the same thing but the young lady did not ask what I wanted to eat so I took my beer to the table and waited. And waited,  Staff were idle behind the bar and eventually I went to the bar to ask what the hell. The young lady was in no way apologetic and told me that there is a clear sign saying that orders had to made at the bar. Long story short - I complained to another staff member (saying that it may be a good idea to assume that someone may not have read the small sign above the bar) who obviously told someone in charge about this and this young lady came to my table an castigated me me for having complained!   My second visit confirmed that the steak was still excellent but the pecan pie was slightly stale - obviously left over from my last visit...  If you love rare steak as I do then the BEST way to do it is to have it on a hot stone and carve the &apos;done&apos; bits of as they reach perfection!

Marvelous steak but experience compromised by staff.

We had lunch there today.  They got our booking wrong - we had booked for 12.30 and they thought it was 4.30 but were able to supply a table.  I had the garlic prawns which were quite good.  My husband had the porterhouse steak but was not keen on the "hot rock".  More like a coffee shop than a bistro but quite enjoyable. John & Gail Laney

No good!!  Crackers are the best thing about the plate. Spinach something dip tasted like was picked from the foreshore ground and rinsed

After getting in from Sydney and driving down to Rockingham to see friends who moved over. Went out for a late dinner the Pink duck had a great atmosphere, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly! The food was really good but next time I hope they don’t run out of hot rocks! But even given that the food didn’t disappoint! Will be back to try the hot rocks for sure!
